About Bates Mill

Our story

Bates Mill started life as a spinning mill founded around the turn of the century making woolen yarn. We are a third generation textile family, who still run and operate it and want to maintain the rich history, stories and character of the mill.

Company

Bates & Co (Huddersfield). Ltd is the official name of our company. with company number (01661994). We are very proud of being situated in Huddersfield and for a long time we have had a passion for engaging with the cultural sector (arts organisations, universities, campaign groups) and have a genuine interest in local affairs and the regeneration agenda.

People

We are Nigel and Richard Bates.

As brothers we jointly manage the business, and are always available to have a chat about working together and offering you the most flexible spaces and terms.
